the mechanics: boxing as a tool for release, recovery, and resilience.

This is not just traditional training and a workout.

It is an experience centered on presence, pacing, and respect for the body — beyond performance and beyond the walls of the gym.

the utility:

Boxing Therapy™ reframes boxing as a tool, not just a sport. Through guided movement and foundational boxing techniques, the approach supports emotional release, mental clarity, and physical grounding.

Each experience is personalized and adaptable, requiring no prior boxing experience. Sessions meet you where you are — physically, mentally, and emotionally — prioritizing awareness over output and process over perfection.

At its core, Boxing Therapy™ helps you reconnect with your body in a way that feels safe, intentional, and empowering.

The Method

Boxing Therapy™ is guided by three core principles:

Intentional Movement

Movement is used with purpose — not to push, but to connect.

Regulation Before Intensity

Pacing, breath, and nervous system awareness guide the experience before exertion or force.

Empowerment Through Action

Boxing becomes a way to reclaim agency, confidence, and self-trust through physical expression.

The method is informed by trauma-aware principles and emphasizes safety, choice, and individual pacing.

About the Practice

Boxing Therapy™ is a distinct approach developed through lived experience and two decades of working with individuals who needed something more than traditional performance-driven training.

This work lives at the intersection of boxing, well being, and the human experience — prioritizing presence, safety, and agency over intensity or results.

 Origin

Boxing Therapy™ emerged from the recognition that boxing, when practiced with intention and care, can become a powerful tool for emotional regulation and self-reconnection. Developed through lived experience and decades of working one-on-one with individuals, the approach reframes boxing as a supportive, grounding practice — one that meets people where they are and allows movement to become a source of clarity, resilience, and empowerment.

Founder

Reese Scott is the founder of Boxing Therapy™ and a boxing coach whose work bridges movement, emotional well being, and lived experience.

Through years of working closely with groups and individuals of all ages, Reese recognized that many of her clients needed more than traditional fitness or performance-based training. Boxing Therapy™ emerged from this understanding — shaped by real human experiences rather than trends — and grounded in the belief that intentional movement can support regulation, release, and empowerment through the body.

Today, Boxing Therapy™ exists beyond the walls of the gym, informing private work, wellness collaborations, and media projects focused on redefining how movement supports mental and emotional health.

Testimonials

You are someone who looked at me, saw where I was, assessed my needs, and cared about me developing my skills. Your passion for people, community, and for just making people better, transforms lives.
— Tammeca Rochester
I came to you at a difficult and challenging time in my life when the best way to describe it, was life was just happening to me. Through our work, your energy, your gifts, you being who you are, it became the difference of life happening to me, to me happening to life.
— KATIE MOONEY
I believed in her dream from day one. She brought the sunshine to the community and I knew she was destined to do some stuff. She taught me so much more about me because when I met her, I was fighting a drug addiction. She never judged me, she always helped me, I got clean, and wherever she is, I want to be.
— Paul
Coming to you was the first time that I understood that feeling joyful, didn’t mean that I didn’t also feel pain. You’ve always created a community where pain isn’t something that you’re running from, or something that you’re fighting or denying or whatever, it’s just something that you’re dealing with, and you could still be joyful.
— The Professor
